The term SMPA or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is 43A Moor Lane, First Floor Office, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1BE. Our company name is Sports Medicine & Performance Ltd trading as Sports Medicine & Performance Association and the registration number is 15340728. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

Whilst every effort is made to verify statements and information submitted by the SMPA members, the information compiled by the SMPA is based on information supplied by various individuals and businesses, it does not represent the views of the SMPA and the SMPA cannot be held responsible for any omissions or inaccurate claims that may appear.

Users of the service do hereby represent, understand and expressly agree that the SMPA does not make any warranty or guarantee over the quality, timing, integrity, responsibility, legality or any other aspect whatsoever of the materials or services offered or delivered by its members to their customers.

You hereby expressly agree not to hold the SMPA (or the SMPA’s agents, representatives, advertisers or employees) liable for any instruction, advice or services delivered which originated through the website or associated Services and the SMPA expressly disclaims any liability whatsoever for any damage, suits, claims, and/or controversies that have arisen or may arise, whether known or unknown therefrom.

Uploading content to the Website/Register

If you are over the age of 18 you are permitted to upload content. Where you upload content to the Website you must ensure that all content uploaded:

  • Is accurate, true, up to date, genuine and not misleading;
  • Is relevant and appropriate;
  • Complies with applicable law in the UK and in any country from which the content is posted or viewed and does not promote illegal activity;
  • Complies with the Privacy Notice and does not disclose any personal or confidential information;

  • Does not relate to the services provided by the SMPA;

  • Is not threatening, abusive or invades others privacy or causes annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;
  • Does not impersonate any person or misrepresent identities or affiliations; or
  • Does not give the impression that it emanates from the SMPA (if this is not the case).

(“Content Standards”)

Where content you upload does not comply with the Content Standards or requires clarification, the SMPA may contact you for further information, before publishing such content.

You warrant that all content you upload shall comply with the Content Standards, and you agree to indemnify the SMPA for any loss the SMPA suffers as a result of your failure to comply with the Content Standards.

The SMPA will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content uploaded by you to the Website.

The SMPA reserves the right to remove or withhold any content at any time which it considers fails to adhere with the Content Standards.

The SMPA reserves the right to edit content you upload to amend spelling, grammar, punctuation, length etc for the purposes of clarity and to ensure that the content can comply with the Content Standards.

SMPA Members are responsible for informing of a change in circumstances and maintaining accurate details on their profile. This includes change in employment circumstances and where a Member is no longer employed by a professional club.

SMPA Register Practitioner’s Eligibility

  • Registrants must have worked in a professional capacity with professional players or a professional club/team
  • Eligible practitioners: Doctors, Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, Sport Scientists, Soft Tissue Therapists, Performance Analyst, Fitness Coach, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Surgeons, Physicians, Podiatrists, Sports Psychologists, Pharmacists, Osteopaths/Chiropractors, Dentists, Nutritionists, Counsellors/Psychotherapists

SMPA Register

  • All practitioners should hold appropriate Indemnity insurance.
  • Strict guidelines as to eligibility for register entitlement are already established and each application will be verified on an individual basis.
  • Registrant members will require authorisation before a listing becomes active.
  • All practitioners must become members of the SMPA and remain as members for the duration of their listing on the register.
  • The SMPA reserves the right to withhold, remove or cancel membership, registration and profile on the SMPA Register, at any time.
  • The SMPA can add certain professions at their discretion.
  • It is the practitioners’ responsibility to undertake the required DBS check, where appropriate
  • All practitioners must be registered with their individual professional registration bodies, where applicable.

Users of the SMPA Register are responsible for ensuring that practitioners have carried out the necessary DBS check, where appropriate.
